TSACO/AAST Manuscript Review Mentorship Program

The TSACO mentoring program was established in 2021 and was designed to develop the peer review skills of junior faculty.  Through a year-long mentored relationship, junior faculty master a structured approach to performing peer review on a diverse series of research manuscripts under the guidance of a senior reviewer.  Additional benefits of the program include establishing a durable mentor/mentee relationship outside of the peer review process, as well as development of a body of high-quality reviewers for the journal.  Since the beginning of the program, over 30 participants have graduated from the program and over 25 senior faculty have participated as mentors.
